Spoiler alert: It involves a lot of coffee, a few midnight Pinterest scrolls, and a dash of chaos that somehow turned into something beautiful.
Let’s rewind a bit. You know that feeling when you finally get the kids in bed, the house is (almost) quiet, and it’s your time? It’s like the universe hands you a little golden ticket. You need a moment of calm, right? But what are you wearing? The hoodie that’s seen better days, or those oversized sweats that scream “I gave up”?
Enter the idea for Demi Doux. There I was, surrounded by a lot of comfy clothes, but none of them made me feel... well, special enough for my me-time. They were either too sloppy, too tight, or didn’t make me feel like the powerful, relaxed goddess I wanted to be (because, let’s face it, that’s what we all deserve at the end of the day).
So, I started designing pyjamas that would fit perfectly into that moment – you know, the one where you just want to forget the stress of the day and actually enjoy being at home. Something you can wear to lounge around in (looking chic, of course), while you sip that glass of wine or sink into your bubble bath without worrying if your outfit still qualifies as “human.”
I wanted to design something that says: "I’m relaxing, but I’m also kind of fabulous while doing it." Is that too much to ask for? Turns out, it’s exactly what we need.
The goal wasn’t just to create comfy pyjamas, but to give you a slice of peace amidst the chaos. Because, let’s be honest, between juggling work, family, and life, it feels like we never truly get a moment to breathe, right? We’re all so busy, but we deserve that sacred space to unwind – and do it in style. That's why I thought: "Let’s create something that makes me feel like I’m winning at life even when I’m doing absolutely nothing."
Demi Doux isn’t just about looking good while you sleep (though, hey, that’s always a bonus). It’s about creating a sense of calm. A little luxury for those who don’t have time for the spa, but want to feel like they’ve just walked out of one. It’s a reminder that self-care doesn’t always need a face mask or a 45-minute meditation session (though those are great too) – sometimes, all it takes is the right outfit for your me-time.
And of course, there were challenges along the way. There’s always the question of fabric – soft enough for comfort, but stylish enough for when you unexpectedly run into the postman while fetching the laundry. Then there’s the fit – too loose, too tight, too frumpy? Nah, we needed that perfect balance. But after a few prototypes, a couple of fitting sessions (and some serious late-night snacks to fuel the creative process), we nailed it.
So here we are – the first collection, designed with love, laughter, and a whole lot of coffee. And guess what? It’s not just about the clothes – it’s about the feeling you get when you put them on. It’s about making your “me-time” something to look forward to, not just a necessity.
